Perfume Making Process
To craft a fragrance like Marushka “DEBONAIR” & “DIVINE”, the journey from raw chemicals to the final bottle follows five essential industrial stages:
Extraction of Aromatic Compounds
The process starts by capturing scents from nature or creating them in a lab. Natural oils are pulled from plants using steam distillation (forwoods/spices) or solvent extraction (for delicate flowers), while synthetic molecules like Alpha-Isomethyl Ionone are synthesized for consistency.
Blending the Fragrance "Juice"
A master perfumer (the "Nose") mixes the concentrated oils according to a strict formula. This includes balancing the Top Notes, Heart Notes, and Base Notes to ensure the scent evolves beautifully over time.
Maceration and Aging
The fragrance concentrate is mixed with Alcohol denat and Aqua, then stored in large stainless steel tanks in a cool, dark environment. This "resting" period—lasting weeks or months—allows the aromatic molecules to chemically bond, removing the harsh smell of alcohol and deepening the scent.
Stabilization and UV Protection
To ensure the perfume doesn't spoil on the shelf, stabilizers like Ethylhexyl methoxycinnamate are added to protect the liquid from UV light. Peg-40 Hydrogenated castor oil is used as an emulsifier to keep the oil and water components perfectly blended.
Chilling and Filtration
Before bottling, the mixture is "iced" or chilled to near-freezing temperatures. This causes any impurities or waxes to solidify so they can be removed through Industrial Filtration, resulting in the crystal-clear liquid you see in the bottle.
Automated Bottling and Packaging
The finished perfume is moved to a Filling Line where machines fill the bottles, crimp the spray pumps to create an airtight seal, and apply the final packaging for retail.
